The Newsletter of the Callanish School of Celtic Arts

Dear Students and Parents,

February is a quiet month, time for lots of practice before our big month of gigs in March! This month, I will be handing out order forms for Callanish paraphernalia. We will be designing a new T-Shirt and be ordering warm-up suits. Please have this form returned by 3/1. It will take about a month for the clothes to be ordered and I would like the kids to have them in time for the April competitions. Happy dancing!

Mòran Taing,

Maggie Carchrie

Mandatory Parents Meeting

There will be a mandatory parents meeting following lessons on Friday, March 1 from 6:15-7:15 pm. Please make your best effort to attend as we need to assess whether a trip to Scotland is feasible in the near future. Fundraising planning, costs, etc. will be discussed along with costume details that were addressed during the Callanish Winter Fling. If you want your child to have the experience of a lifetime, it is imperative that you attend! Otherwise, decisions will be made without your input and could drastically affect whether we take our trip or not.

February is Chocolate Month

Our annual chocolate sale is in full swing. Each child has been given at least one case of Hershey's Chocolate to sell. This sale brings in over $1,000 annually and is an easy fundraiser. Please return all money and/or chocolate to Maggie by the first class in March.

Hats Off!

Congratulations to the following dancers who earned medals and trophies at the Callanish Winter Fling:

Congratulations also to Abby, Karen & Anna for moving up to Novice!
