The Newsletter of the Callanish School of Celtic Arts
Dear Students and Parents,
March will be a busy month with lots of gigs around the Cape. The children will be informed week to week what they will be dancing, and where. All arrival times and performance times are listed in the upcoming events. Please try to have your chocolate money to me as soon as possible so that we can wrap up the February fundraiser.
Mòran Taing,
Maggie Carchrie
New T-Shirts Are Here!
The new spring t-shirts are here and are available for sale during lessons this month. There are a variety of colors, sizes and styles. Children's T's are $12 and Adults are $15, payable to Maggie Carchrie.
Warm-Up Suits
Just a reminder that your form and money for warm-up suits is due on Monday, March 4th. Kaleidoscope Imprints was able to find another company that makes purple wind pants for kids, so now the children can have completely purple suits! Fundraising money will be used to pay for the embroidery tape which costs $250. This has drastically reduced the price of the jackets from the original estimate.
Spring Semester
Believe it or not, it's time to register for the spring semester of dance. Maggie will have schedules available by mid-March and tuition is due by the last lesson of the winter term.
Friday, March 15th
All dancers who attend lessons on Friday will meet from 4-5 pm on Friday, March 15. After lessons, the school will provide pizza for kids and parents and we will head over to Mashpee for the 6:30 pm gig. Please bring your costumes to lessons as the children will dress for the show at the WBCB.
Gaelic Language Class
Beginning Sunday, April 28, Thomas Leigh will begin an 8-week introductory class in Scottish Gaelic for Teens and Adults. The class will be held at Maggie and Thomas' house in Sandwich. The class will meet from 2-3 pm, and it will cost $100 for non-Callanish students and $90 for Callanish Students. Please call Thomas to register: (508) 888-0107.
House Warming Party
Maggie and Thomas would like to invite all the Callanish dancers and parents to their house warming party on Sunday, April 21 from 2-5 pm. Call Maggie and Thomas if you need directions.
